Tagged and Bagged: broadband, japan, ny times article
Check out this NY Times article about broadband in Japan. I pay $46CDN for a measly 7Mbit connection and its got a transfer cap of 60GB/month. And, compared to many other places, this is a super fast connection.
What kind of crack are they smoking?
Yea, there is something terribly wrong with me paying $50/month for 10Mb and them 16X faster for $20.
Move to Japan. But then again, the cost of everything else there is outrageous.
I pay $45 a month for Time Warner, the speeds vary since it’s cable but currently there are no caps, but they’ve been talking about it recently and might implement it. Luckily I’d probably never go over my cap, my online usage at home is minimal since I sit at a computer all day at work, I don’t want to usually touch a computer when I get home.
