I’ve wondered how anyone could continue to support a company like Apple, when they might get sued at any time for mot using the product according to the way Apple wants you to.
The latest things that Apple is taking exception to publically are companies that make touch screens and users who “jailbreak” their iPhones so that they can use apps that aren’t found in the “app store”.
Apple has filed a patent on their touch screen technology and has shown intent to sue any company that it feels has a touch screen that resembles theirs.
Now, Apple is rattling their sabres again over iPhome jailbreakers, saying that its an illegal act, claiming copyright and DMCA violationsof its software. So, if you want your iPhone to do things that there isn’t an approved application sitting in the “app store” for you, your device cannot be used fo that purpose, despite its capability to do so.
This is just another example of bullying a slanted interpretation of law onto one’s users to keep them from “popping the hood” of the device they paid a lot of money for. They are bullying people to stop innovating. This is such a shame, as Apple has a reputation for producing quality hardware.

Talking of apples and oranges, the service provider Orange apparently locks in the cell phones to their own service. Today while out shopping, I saw a UK couple trying to get somebody to unlock their mobile phone for local providers usage.
I agree 100% with you Corey. I really wish I had an iRiver portable music player instead of an 80GB ipod Classic despite the fact that I am perfectly happy with the technical specifications and performance. Well, I guess I am not really 100% satisfied with the technical hardware of my device as they used encryption in the firmware so as to prevent me from using RockBox. Apple, it’s time to admit that their is a bigger universe because I won’t be sending any more money your way despite the fact that my uncle was the 19th employee ever to be hired there and he still works there. And yes, he is not happy with his job anymore so the company is screwing up in every way possible. For shame, Apple. For shame!!!
I prefer bananas over apples. One thing apples are good for are for apple pies, not computers or other electrical devices.
